time compression--real time?

I just got SC and I'm starting with the training missions. But even at the lowest/slowest setting, the time compression allows time to go about 5X faster than real time. So that in the training missions my sub runs aground.

Is this normal?

thanks, JL

I don't really understand your question. You do not have to use time compression, so take it nice and easy in real time when you are close to anything hard...

The problem is (and I just recently got this game) unless I am at the navigation station (with the 2D map) the game will not play in "real time." It goes in "super fast time," like every "real" second clicks off in the lower right hand corner at 5 minutes. This happens in every station except the navigation station. So I can't even finish the training mission because in a few minutes several "hours" have passed.

I have time compression set to "slowest." Something is making it go way too fast!

I have heard of this before, but not in SC but in DW. Do you have a dual core processor? If so see this thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=103031 which contains a link to somewhere that had info on how to cure this problem. Hope it helps.

Yes, I do have dual core processing. Shutting off one of the CPU's solved the problem. :)

Thanks!

Glad this solved your problem, enjoy SC.
