VIIC/41 Can Dive Deeper Than The XXI!!
Its true I tested it! At about 290m a full hull integrity XXI started to take damage! Yet I have been right down to 310m in a VIIC/41 and not had any problems!
I have to say I was a bit disapointed. |
In RL the XXI was of very poor quality Eg: poorly fitting sections and sub standard welding runs :arrgh!:

too bad they never got to finish the VIIC/42
as they mention on the designs it could cruise around 500 meters but as it never been build, that number stands only on the drawing table. and stays unproven |

Oh right, so it was like they were using materials of the day to build something ahead of its time?
Still doesn't figure how the VIIC/41 can go deeper than XXI can. Though I suppose with the XXI you don't need to. The XXI probably only needs to go to 200m its speed was probably what would have been its chief way of escape. |
Are you sure you're not using SH3cmd, if I remember correctly it randomizes the crush depth a bit? Just a thought.:hmm:

How deep a XXI goes?
|
actualy the thing is also that the XXI didn t have the need to go as deep as other sub.
Type VII was like a red dot on a hydrophone and even as a red dot it was so slow. Type XXI was a lot more smouth on a hydrophone and can move faster submerge than the type VII on surface :) Do you realize the way a type XXI can do at 120 metters before a depth charge can reach that depth??? You should have use a 100 warheads hedgehog to get one at that depth:rotfl: |
