Will SH4 work with Nvidia 8600 GT 256MB?

Please help me.

I'm guessing yes. One way to find out....load it up!

KrvKpt. Falke 05-10-07 11:43 AM

Why not?
Just use newest forceware from nvidia - i heard that they are good for G80 (big performance hit - check guru3d.com cause i dont know if they are available at nvidia ...).

Thank you for your answer but,
I haven't buy it yet, so I need to know if I also have to buy a new card too.
Does anybody (who has the same card with me) play the game ?

TDK1044 05-10-07 11:47 AM

It's just an updated version of the 7600GT. I have the 7600GT and it runs the game perfectly.

KrvKpt. Falke 05-10-07 12:04 PM

Wait wait - spyridon - you own a GF 8600GT and you wonder if it be good for SH4? Weird :-?
Well - GF 8800 GTX is better for sure

I can run SH4 on my 6600GT 256MB but not on highest settings, I'm sure that 8 series card will do better...

AVGWarhawk 05-10-07 12:05 PM

Make sure you got at least 1 gig of RAM. What processor are you using? I use a AMD 64 3200+. Game runs fine with it.

spyridon 05-10-07 12:12 PM

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600, 2.4GHz, 1066MHz FSB

And I have 2 GB of RAM

Is it enough or not?

AVGWarhawk 05-10-07 12:14 PM

Yes, can you spare me some RAM???? I only have 1 gig

spyridon 05-10-07 12:31 PM

lol It seems that I have enough ram .

My new pc costed me 5.000 eu

Ok, I 'll buy the game. I hope it will work.

Thank you all for your help!:D :D :D :D

1024MB of ram could not handle new games with full details and I fell big impact after buying another 1 gig of ram in SH4 also.

My radeon x1900xt 256MB is enought to play SH4 with all seting full with one exception - volumetric fog is a reall fps killer in that game. In Drivers I also maxed all up AA x6 and so on. And this card is much older than GF8800.

8800 is updated 7600GT? it must be huge update because 8800 support DX10

I would recommend having at least 2.5 GB RAM if you're using Vista. At least 1.5 GB for XP on any of the newest games.

I can confirm: The 8600 GTS 256 MB runs SH4. The lowest frame rates I usually see is in the mid 20's, unless I'm zoomed in real close to a deck fire (wonder if that transferred from SH3, too?). All the SH4 goodies turned on, and the NVidia Control Panel is set to the "Balanced" settings.

I'm running an E6300, too.

good to hear since i ordered my E6600/2GB/8800GTS machine parts from newegg this morning. :D

Morts 05-10-07 02:21 PM

not trying to hijack this thread but
will this handle SH4 on full without low fps (below 25 fps IMO)

Core2Duo E6600 4MB 2x2,40GHz
4 GB's of ram
and
Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS 640 mb grapich card:arrgh!:
