I hear the props of a RN task force in my area and already thinking of the glory of a battleship kill on my first patrol, I surface to intercept them....push the TC to max. Game judders a bit and plummets to 1tc to find myself being battered by the task force.

Naturally I was killed.....but that was the first time i've seen/heard a battleship fire its guns in SH3!!!!!

And I may have died....but it was damned impressive!!!!!! :rock:

DC Attacks are just as fun. I dont know whether its in stock or just GWX but hearing the battleship firing at you and literally hearing the rounds go screaming past you as they zero in on your sub. Lots of fun. :up:

why? i was so far out i couldn't intercept them submerged, and if i went to flank submerged they would have heard me.

What else could i have done???:arrgh!:

Held back a bit on the 'tc' so you had a little notice period that you were getting near to your final resting place :lol:

I played a MP mission once,
I started on the surface (mission mistake)
and I started right NEXT to the DUKE OF YORK!:o

just seeying those barrels turn towards ya is making you take a crap in 7 colours.

I once ended up playing the Bismarck mission and I must have done something wrong because the battleships opened fire on me. Yeah, I didn't survive long.
