Tweaking folders
My young relative likes GWX but he can not get pass one or two patrols so I was thinking copying the Roster and Sea folders and taking out all the destroyers and putting it back via JSGME.
Is it OK do this without causing conflict to the game? |
A lot of the destroyers are scripted
Generic entries are plenty too so likey would cause problems You could open up the campaign scr and rnd and use the replace function to lower AI crew ability CrewRating=4 etc change to CrewRating=1 or 2 Wont reduce the DD etc but will be a lot dumber The only other way is to open the campaign files in mission ed and delete the DD in there |

Unfortunately they are spread all over the files
Replacing all entries will in effect dumb down all vessels at sea How old is your nephew ? |
10 going on 11.
May be a kids mod for GWX like the one done for GW? Granted only when you guys are happy with GWX. Are well he will have to stick to it. |
all you have to do is swap out the "AI_Sensors dat" file for the stock 1.4b version of the "AI_Sensors dat" file and you will return the dd sensors back to stock levels so he can get the game play of stock with gwx.
open ubisoft/silenthunterIII/data/library and you'll find it there if thats not enough get the "gwx lite" mod |
Would that cause a conflict?
|
no conflict since that file controls sensors and such so you reduce the acuracy of their ability to sink you giving him a good chance to survive after being detected. it should even the odds for him till he gets used to the game so he can handle the full challenge of gwx.
but don't try to copy the stock version over gwx version, it may cause problems so move the gwx file to a safe place till you want to replace it then put the stock version file into the game folder. when you copy over files it sometimes leaves remnents of the original file to cause issues. this is why JSGME isn't always the best way to install changes. |
