Torp speed settings

Does this option work? I can toggle the speed switch however when I look away it resets to slow.

Thats weird I havent had the speed change.

I have had the contact/influence button reset.

Of course its entirely possible I may have not noticed.

You have to set each tube separately. Once they're set they should stay that way until you fire the torp or load a save. They do for me at least.

I wish they were defaulted to FAST like SH1

It is a pain to have to set all of your tubes to FAST manually, only having to do it again on reload. The game should remember your FAST setting (or default to it). Even the manual says slow is rarely used. There is a command you can configure (328?) to set torp speed - I have mapped it to my keyboard - but! - it only works going from fast to slow - it does nothing if you're already set to slow. Grrrr.

I haven't seen anyone gripe about this before but it is one of my biggest 3 or 4 complaints(!) (radar issues are #1 or 2)

I belive its a simple mod to set the default to fast. Ask in the modding forum.

When first released the game had issues with the "fast" setting making calculations uhhh difficult.

Torpedo default settings

From another thread - not my fix.

To change default torpedo pistol button settings to contact:
Go to SH4\data\menu\cfg\dials.
Dial 2:
Change dialval from 45,45 to DialVal=45,0
Dial 55:
Change dialval from 0,40 to DialVal=40,0

There must be a similar way to change the default speed to fast, now it has been fixed.

I agree, the fast setting should be the default. Maybe 1.3 ?
