Career and the battle of Midway
 

On my third patrol, I was just leaving Midway after a refuel for the trek to the East China sea, when I got the radio messages that the Japanese fleet was enroute to Midway Island. I figured I would hang around and postpone the East China Sea trip until after I helped with the Battle of Midway. I set up a patrol path 150 NM WNW of Midway Island. After June 7th 42 I realized I must have missed the entire battle. I reloaded my save point from June 2nd and did the same thing but with a further patrol WNW of Midway. Same thing, I saw no Jap Fleet, only an american Task force with 3 carriers steaming West after June 7th 42.

I am using a few mods, but notably Flavored To Taste 2.4. This is the only mod I am using that would effect the Campaign.

Here are my questions:

1. Durring the period from June 1st to June 7th, I recieved absolutely no contact reports. Considering that there is suposed to be a major battle going on, shouldn't I recieve something?

2. Has anyone seen the Battle For Midway in career mode?

3. Might Flavored for Taste 2.4 have edited out the contact reports that I was suposed to recieve?

Yes, On one of my early patrols (Campaign mode) after leaving Midway and came across the Japanese fleet. Naturally I couldn't pass it up.....:D I damaged a battle ship and sunk a DD.

Well, just got finished searching for this and found absolutely nothing concrete, just a bunch of ppl saying in scattered posts, that they don't believe the historic engagements exist in the career mode of SH4.

Maybe you can point me to the, "Dedicated Posts to this subject", as I have searched, but come up empty handed on any real good info...

on June 2nd or so i took command of a new build Gato and RACED NW to MIdway at flank

around the 5th i saw zeroes and vals a couple hundred miles NW of Midway, and knowing it could mean one thing i headed NW

couple hours later i run smack into Nagumo and sank a Shokaku type, then withdrew :ping:

Did you run into the contacts (Vals and Zeros), or did you get contact reports from the allied Task Force?

Are you playing with the vanilla version or a modded version that slows down the contact reports?
