Help needed: launching starfish

Being no stranger to sims, most notably Lock on: Flaming Cliffs, this is my first surface sim.

2 weeks ago i downloaded the game, read up on the maunal and watched the tutorial videoclips. No luck. I am trying out the Kilo submarine in the mission Kilo Demo.

My problem:
I cant launch the SS-N-15 Starfish missile/torpedo. Also, assigning targets doesnt work either. I have to choose SNAPSHOT. Is that the only way to launch a missile/torpedo?

This is stpswize what i do (in Kilo Demo):
1. Broadband display, aquire a audio signal, assign it to Tracker A for S01.
2. Try to figure out its speed with the waterfall (cant get it right!)
3. Narrowband display, confirm the target type. It should be a freighter.
4. Swith to the TMA, allow it to draw some lines for a solution.
5. Place the arrow-thingy to match the lines, caluclating a solution, as was hsown in tutorial video.
6. Siwtch to torpedo, then select target S01.
7. Clicking on any tube doesnt do anything! so i do a SNAPSHOT then set snapshot torpedo time to active, launch direction etc.
8. Fill the tubes and launch, 99% always missing the target anyways.

Noteworthy:
1. The compressed air is at 80%.
2. Depth is 52metres.

Why cant i preassign /lock a target to a tube/torpedo?
no Starfisj wanna lock toa torpedo tube.

Which steps am i missing? How do i launch a Starfish without the SNAPSHOT method?

The Starfish is an ASW weapon. It can't be assigned to a surface contact.

But it will hit surface ships easily (or it did in some older version). Just manually reclassify the surface contact to sub and launch.
