WE: We've been detected, Sir!
So, I am trying some practice missions.
I have realism at (100% - automatic map plotting). So, I am submerged and the Weapons Officer says, "We've been detected". I am not really interested in how the enemy has detected us. However, I want to know how can he possibly know at this point that the enemy has detected us? (I had simply gone to flank while submerged. Now, most likely they heard us.) But the enemy has yet to ping, yet to drop any thing, yet to charge over our location ... The scope is down too. So, how can anyone on our sub possibly know what the enemy knows or thinks at this point? This reminds me a little bit of some of the missions in Sub Command, where a god like voice booms and says "you have been counter detected". Where's the realism in this? Shouldn't I have to deduce myself that our element of surprise has been compromised? Thanks. |

True that is unrealistic, but man going flank...you might as well ssay, "They must have detacted us kaleun, unless they are dumb as well as deaf". :p

Well, after a couple of hours trying to get up to speed with SH3, it's time to return to the Classic. DOSBOX has to be one of the greatest utilities around. I was able to get a new PC and finally experience some of the games which have come out in the last few years or so without having to forfeit some of the greatest games ever made.
