Observer Periscope depth
Is there a way that the Observer's Periscope can be raised 2 to 3 ft higher so it can actually be used for observing? So far in the Salmon and Sargo, that scope is not extended far enough. I don't know about the other boats though.

Same length as the attack scope, as far as I know. The game differences are lower magnification (4x instead of 6x), can be elevated higher (you can look straight up with the observation scope, which is good for spotting planes; you can't go beyond roughly 30° with the attack scope), and the head is supposedly easier for the enemy to spot.

I usually take my sub up to 55 feet rather than the pre-ordained periscope depth, and sometimes higher than that, but beyond doing that, I think you are stuck with how it comes.

Had that problem before patch 1.2, don't notice it anymore. Unless it is related to certain subs.......

Yep, Salmon class the Ob scope is useless unless you manually adjust the depth to 50 feet. Attack scope seems OK.

On the subs I've tried the O scope is mounted lower on the tower than the Attack. The automatic pariscope depth is set to the higher Attack scope. I use the attack 95% of the time so doesn't bother me. I use the O scope when I want the better situational awareness of no magnification and I just raise the depth a couple feet for a short while. Changing depth to optimize the various attack procedures and adjust risk was common in US subs in the war.
