Runs much better.

I've upgraded to 3GB of RAM from 1 and it's made the game much more playable.

Maybe a solution for some.

PS Beard Growth. Anyone able to mod it?

Hey, you only need 2 GB to run it. Can I have one of your sticks????;)

Thats because the game needs more than 1 gig to run and it has to use
your HD for virtual memory slowing everything down. As for the 3 gigs,
you may not need them now but in 6 months with newer games hitting
the market, new ball game !!

Also it depends of the background programs but the most limitating factor in sh4 is the graphic card

with one gig and a good card the game runs decently well , but a poor card and three gigs canīt make the game playable.

one gig will swap to disk.
xp pro footprint is ~1.2G
anything over 1.5G SH4 will not need or use.

You might find that even though SH4 likes 2 gigs of RAM, that spare memory will help you in multiplayer, so it's all good.

Incidentally, one of the nice features of the Vista OS (yes, there are a few) is the 'powerboost' where you can plug a flash drive into your PC which Vista will use as spare RAM, so if anyone is using Vista and struggling, try that one.
