Any mod for the inside of the U-Boats?

Not referring to the 'open hatch mod', but the colors.

I swear, the game was designed for people with 20-year-old CRTs that are so dark you can barely make out the Windows desktop. On an LCD with DVI input (accurate digital color, no adjustment needed or possible on the monitor), the interior of the U-Boats is WAY too bright. Very, very washed out.

Not a problem in Sh4 at all - which looks completely perfect (well, until the 1.2 patch which made the 'port office' way too bright again...but it was fine before), or any other game, so it's clearly not the display. The problem is the surfaces. The game has the issue of a lot of titles of its period, in that textures are not necessarily illluminated just by in-game light sources. Or, perhaps, the in-game light sources are simply reflect off surfaces to far too great an extent. The next result of which is that the backs and sides of 3d objects have far too much illumination.

Has any work been done to re-texture the interior of the U-boats? Or, alternatively, tone the lights down some?

The only other mod I've seen was the 'meat/food mod'...but that's already in GWX :arrgh!:

I believe that best high rez and graphical u-boat interiors are incorporated into GWX.

However, if your graphics are 'washed out' then try adjusting your gamma settings. I will admit that my u-boat interiors are very bright/colourful, not indicative of the inside of a control room but I put that down to having a very bright LCD monitor.

These u-boat interiors were released as a standalone mod BUT you will not find them anywhere as they have been removed.

Anyone for a donut????:arrgh!:

Actually, already have GWX. If I set my display driver settings for "fullscreen 3d" to be 0.75 of it's full value, it fixes Sh3 well enough.

Wish there was a better solution, though. Actually, it's REALLY a shame ATI dropped their 'smartshaders', as you could do some cool stuff with that.

Look into or use the Omega drivers, smartshaders are still present.;)
