I'll give you a clue... It's February 1942, and that's my submarine docked in Hiroshima

Well, the IJN are out fighting a war. This is why the port is empty;) OK so you are not buying that explanation:shifty:

That brings up the question: has anyone travelled to Hiroshima on August 6th 1945 in the game? Does anything happen? Does the harbor get flattened?

Also, could my sense of curiosity be any more ghoulish? :nope:

I'm sure it wouldn't be politically correct to have aything to do with "the bomb" in the game. I can almost promise you that nothing happens. This is a WWII simulation about the war against Japan after all!:nope:

Camera's in Japan had purple lenses in '42?

That dock looks almost exactly like one in Guam... I think you're fooling us into believing it's Hiroshima.

Right. It's not as if there's ever been a game with atomic weapons in it before, or an RTS where civilian workers are fair game.

The 3d world doesn't seem to be very dynamic in reguards to real war events. I left Pearl Harbor on December 9th, 1941 for my first patrol... yet all the buildings on Ford Island were intact, and the only Battleship anywhere near by was a fully intact Nevada Class near the Harbor exit (Nevada was beached near the Harbor exit, so this is probably accurate except that it's not damaged at all and appears to be fully afloat)

I'd expect to see damaged building on Ford Island and around the docks. I'd also exepct to see damaged and half sunk Battleships sitting on the bottom along Battleship row, but these appear to all be non-existant.

This was kind of a let down for me seeing a fully intact Pearl... makes me wonder exactly why I'm steaming across the Pacific to get shot at~
