Sh4 uses the same weather settings that sh3 in the campaign files, and i remember that it was a problem with stock version, too many raining or sunny days.
In sh4 the campaing file is splitted in several files, and every file have values about weather , i think that all have the same settings. Fog=0 FogRand=0 Clouds=0 CloudsRand=0 Precip=0 PrecipRand=0 WindHeading=0 WindSpeed=5.000000 WindRand=0 WeatherRndInterval=5 SeaType=0 A good test could be change the values by others in ALL files and see if it works. in sh3 forum there are a lot of discussions about weather values. |

WernerSobe - are you using a modified executable or trying to play the game without the original disc in your drive? From what I have read, constant rainy weather seems to be associated with the game's copy protection being triggered.
Notice any big-eyed sailors? 2-d sailors? Sailors randomly counting numbers? These are also part of the protection system. Use the original disc and executable and this should go away. |
mh no i have the original disc and its in. i have nothing triggered off.
Maybe its just because the weather is basicly randomised. A random number triggers a weather change or not. And when youre realy unlucky it is thereticaly possible that the weather wont ever change. |
To Wernersobe, And every one else sorry for my immature outburst above.

I remember in SH3 when you saved the game, the weather would reset.
What I mean by this is over time (like 6-18 hrs.), the weather will change. The time is reset back to 0 after a save so that the time has to keep advancing over & over. 0-12,save,starts at 0 again instead of continuing on from 12. This has the effect of never changing weather if you save the game rather often. I could do a 6 week patrol and never see any weather but sunny skies and calm seas....(saved the game every 12 hrs) JIM |
Quite honestly this is the first post someone has said the weather has not changed in weeks. Very odd indeed. I have had maybe 3 days of rain. The weather model is much improved from SH3. Sorry I do not have an answer for you;)
