D Dive, P Periscope Depth, C Crash Dive
 

Hi ppl,

Hm, maybe this is a silly question, but I'll ask nevertheless.

I use SH4 Patch 1.2

When I'm in a game, I try the P button, or D button, or C button. The sub goes to speed All Stop, and nothing happens. It won't dive. I have to manually click on the Depth meter so the sub could dive.

Why can't I do for example a Crash Dive just by pressing C, or go to Periscope Depth by pressing P?

Somebody else has this problem?

One more thing, the E Emergency surface works when I'm under water.

Yea Im guessing the configs have been corrupted somehow.

Nope, nothing of that kind.

I have Windows Vista Ultimate, I installed the game from the CD, patched it with 1.2. I think it is a bug issue of some sort.

Yes, I have seen that. Are u using a false SH4.exe file (You know the one I mean)?

That's the cause. If not, then I don't know. I tried it myself :oops:

Did these keys work before you installed the patch 1.2? I have heard of
keys not working either due to a crack-DVD or a bad install....

Ok, lets cut to the chase. You are using the UBI disc you purchased to start the game, yes? If we are ok here, Vista.....I do not know much about this yet and attempting not to. But.....I recommend a complete reinstall. Remove all files and folders. Even in MY DOCUMENTS. Delete this also. Reinstall and patch. See how she goes then.

running it from the original disk "should" fix this.
copy protection has a history of ruining the game for legal users so im not saying you aint :)

but the 1.1 crack removed copy protection, the 1.2 crack didnt.
running mine of the disk it works relativly fine.
running it with a cracked 1.2 exe it doesnt work too well. crash dive ussually works but pressing P doesnt achieve much. and torps dont always fire.

still that said in a game that is as broken as this what were they thinking off, adding copy protection, if they had just let ppl play it no one would have bothered downloading it :rotfl:

unfortunatly none of the games most dissapointing errors are fixed by swapping exes.
but yeah pretty much do as they say here. run it off the disk. sad i know.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. Anyway, I use the original DVD. Did a reinstall, and it didn't work again, that it crossed my mind, wait a minute, you haven't restarted your PC like 10-15 days. (Going Hibernate and back) Restarted it, reinstalled and it worked ;)
