[TEC] Searchlights

Read a few posts that said the searchlights weren't working in 1.2?
If this is so I hope someone is looking into it, it was a great feature.

They do work, i've seen them. :D

On a semi-related note, I swear I saw them listed as equipment on the US subs when I was poking around... be cool to be able to turn them on (not that you'd want to, but cool, none the less).

They work. Same as SHIII basically.

I can see a very good reason for having them on your sub. You are looking
to pick up downed flyer or crew in lifeboat and its very dark out. You can't
see anything but you scan with the light and there they are. Mission
Accomplished !!

True, hadn't thought of that. Obviously it'd have to be someplace where doing something quickly trumped stealth :D

They do work - but many times i've seen escorts not using them at all even if they know i'm in the area.

When meeting large task forces i've seen them use the searchlights, but as said before. Many times they just cruise around in the dark.

I wonder why?

kakemann 04-20-07 04:19 AM

Could it be that the crew settings are lower in the campaignfiles for escorting destroyers?

That means they are "dumber" and don't understand that using their searchlights will keep searching easier?

Ya they work, even after you sink them...:damn:

The S-Class has a small searchlight on the structure that supports the periscope sheers. I guess its purely decorational..... but theres an image there... if someone could find out its position and make a light source there too

kakemann 04-23-07 07:54 AM

That would be soo cool! :D
