FullScreenMovie mod for GWX1.03

This is an UNOFFICIAL menu movie mod for GWX1.03.

WHAT DOES IT DO?
************************************************** ******************
The mod resizes the background movie normally visible in the upper-left corner of the menu to be a fullscreen movie.
The mod also makes the menu .tga (called mask512.tga in Data/Menu/Data/) transparent, so you are able to see the whole
movie.

The movie is the stock movie used in GWX1.03, you can change the movie if you want, it does not break the mod.

INSTALLATION
************************************************** ******************
The FullScreenMovie mod is JSGME ready, so just drop the "FullScreenMovie" folder to your MODS folder and activate it.

COMPATABILITY WITH OTHER LARGE MODS
************************************************** ******************
If you want to use this mod with other large mods (NYGM, WAC etc.) you need to delete the "menu_1024_768.ini" from the
"FullScreenMovie/Data/Menu" and go to your Data/Menu and open up the "original" menu_1024_768.ini.

After this, find line that says [GF0 I3] and few lines below that you see line labeled "Pos" and after that you see
four digits. Change the digits to following: 0,768,1024,768 and save the file. Then just activate the FullScreenMovie
with JSGME (At this point it only contains the mask512.tga file, which is required for you to see the fullscreen movie)
and play.

Thank you.

Oh and I must add that, the screenshot really doesnt show how it'll look like in-game. Of course, the movie is pixelised as I didnt resize the movie file itself as that would make the file BIG. But it actually looks quite good. ;)

Do you will make a bigger version of this file, in order to see the movie less pixelised ?
I'm just wondering, mate.... This version is already pretty good. ;)

I would need the original video file for that and I dont have it. So, no. :-?

Aw  .... Ok.

Dowly 04-17-07 05:49 PM

Besides, the movie is 40mb atm and it's very small in size. Just enough to fill the periscope in the menu. To make it sharper noticably, it would have to be resized atleast 2x or even 3x, making the file over 100megs.

Alex 04-17-07 05:53 PM

Well, I'm aware of that.... The beauty of this video just has its price. ;)

I'm thinking of making a in-game vid, and editing it to look like an old video (I have a great tools for that ), similar to that used in GWX.

You can use the lowRes version of it by just replacing the vid. ;)
