Patch 1.2 enviromental!!!

Is the monolith gone and is fog selectable now?

macky 04-17-07 09:35 AM

i would like to know this too. I want see-through water without the fps hit:D

AVGWarhawk 04-17-07 09:43 AM

:yep:

I'm at work....working:roll:. I have 6 hours to go but I need to know!!!

you can select fog and environmental effects separately. On both options you'll have the see-through water. For me the best thing is to exclude the environmental effects. The fog doesn't hit my FPS very much (GeForce 7800 GTX).

Haven't seen the monolith yet. I think it will soon be just a dark memory ...

I just need the fog to go away and I'm good:yep:

Yes, the options are now separated. You can have transparent water without the environmental effects.

But, there seems to be problem. The transparent water effekt has no effect on my FPS when I am on the free camera. But when I change to the bridge view, it kills the FPS like if I had the environmental effects on.

Strange

Oh, oh see if you can smooth it out somehow and let us know if you can and what you did! Thanks:rock:

Indeed strange cause that didn't happen on my system...

The crew are still transparent on deck with Environmental Effects enabled!

It's a real shame the fog has such a hit on some systems as it's a really nice feature in itself. Trying to sneak up on a contact when you can't see a hand in front of your face is really quite tense.

Another 30 minutes and I'm outta here, thing is I really should do some work in the garden when I get home. Any bets on which will win, the garden or SH4 1.2?

:)

I'm running the patch. The fog isn't the FPS hitter on my rig, it's enviromental effects. Turn it off and the transparent crew are ok. So I've got fog with transparent water with AA and good FPS.

EE has volumetric fog. This is the FPS killer. The game has a different type of fog when EE is off and I have no issues with this fog. So, if the volumetric fog is from EE, I'm good.

One thing i noticed. I ran a quick career. Ran into some bad weather. The ambient rain sound doesn't appear anymore. Can anyone confirm this?
