I just downloaded this dark recognition manual for SH4. Where do I copy the file to start using it in the game?

Backup or rename the original file, recognitionmanual.dds, and place the modded one in the same directory.

You can find it in your SH4 install directory. Typically C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Menu\Data

Due to the wording of your question, I just want to be sure you understand - not to offend.

The .rar file is compressed or zipped. Changing the .rar extension to .dds will not work. You need a program like WinRAR to uncompress or extract the file. I don't have this mod but you should see a dds file after the extraction.
