Sucide!

I got one question for everyone

Who here has experienced the joy of suicidal Destroyers ramming their boat

Twice during hit-and-runs on convoys, my beloved Pogy was rammed by destroyers whom I probably pissed off hitting them with the deckgun. :nope:

Will try to get a screencap next time.

BTW, I am bold and do a lot of hit and runs and surface raids on convoys, disable ships and submerge or run, the return later for the ones left behind :arrgh!:

I used to be bold until yesterday when I made a surface attack at night on a task force west of Luzon. There were at least 3 BB´s there. Only I forgot I was sailing in a S-18, couldn´t get more than 12 knots out of her, same as a sitting duck for the escorts. I had to swim back to base.
 :damn:

A destroyer that wants to ram you is far from suicidal.

He wants to sink you.

"The desire to attack submarines underwater led to rapid destroyer evolution during the WWI, which was quickly equipped with strengthened bows for ramming..."

And to quote my old Aikido instructor: "In response to the attack, first, get out of the way."

:rotfl:

Happened again last night while playing, only it rammed me when my deckgun destroyed the deckhouse! Last command input. LOL

Its hardly surprising, it was a common tactic used by both the allies and the axis.
