Can't End Mission
Was working out of Pearl an after return from mission, my boat was transfered to Australia. No big deal but after completing my mission and returning to port it would only let me refit (recon mission AGAIN!). So I left came back, same thing, only refit. Ok I thought maybe I'm supposed to go to Pearl. Off I go and still I can only refit. I check map and have no other missions but I do not have an option to END MISSION. I also can't just quit as it does not give me that option either. NEver had this happen before.
So after going around the Pacific, I decided to beach my boat and now the Navy retires me and my old boat. Very funny since its a new Balao class. Man! Where are the damn patches! |
Wasn't the boat (you) transferred to Australia?? Perhaps that's where you meant to go.
|
I went back to Brisbane first and all I got was a refit option. End Patrol was greyed out. it was like I was at one of the refit points Berry added as that is the only MOD I am running.
|
Go to Fremantle. I think this will take care of it.
|
So I take a tour of Australia next! Ok will do. Jsut be nice if someone could figure out what is wrong with that base. Its a game base and not an add on and it was the port the mission told me to start at so its jsut strange I can't end it there.
Also, why no end patrol option anywhere? If I want to quit in a port I should be allowed to as long as its not a resupply port only. I'll let you know what happens. |
Well still can't end mission. So I went back to my original saved depart from port and went and did the same mission again and still can't end the mission. Now my tour is going to be over as this is BS. My sub was rammed by an escort and I can't dive now and the refit doesn't repair that so I'm screwed. This mission was awesome and now I can't end it and my career is over as well. Damn buggy POS...:nope:

Did you try Java? What port did you originally leave from?
|
Try this:
Open the file CareerTrack.upc in your savegame folder* and search for the last "Reason=CSS_BaseChange", below it should be a note about your new base. Code:
[CareerTrack 1.CareerStatusSave 100] |
Did you actually get a recall to base from HQ? If you don't get one, your return to base (whatever that is) will not end the mission. In the base recall, you should be told what base to return to.
To get a base recall you need to: 1) Fulfill all known mission objectives, even those which have been added. Call in a status report. or 2) Be out of torpedos. If out of torps and still don't get a recall after making a status report, shadow a convoy in your assigned patrol area and make a contact report on one of the non-escort ships. Within a 1/2 hour you should get a base recall and the base name should be mentioned. -Pv- |
I went on patrol from Manilla and when I completed my objectives I couldn't dock there or at the base on Bataan. I had to go to Surabaya in Java before I could end the mission. It all made sense because Manilla had fallen to the Japanese. I just didn't recieve orders to the new base.
|
I've never had a problem ending a mission, and I've never gotten "return to base" orders. However, I've started and ended at Pearl Harbor every time, and I've always completed the mission objectives before returning. I don't know if it's the Australia bases that are buggy, or the shifting of base mid-mission that's causing this, but others have reported similar things.

With probs like this, you should be able to end a mission no matter where you are and whether the mission is completed or not. That feature is available in SH3 and should also be available in SH4. You just sacrifice renown if it's done this way.

Hoy, did you figure this one out eventually? Im at the same spot experiencing the same problem - cannot end my mission in Brisbane, and Im reeally not in the mood to try every different port in the pacific to see if they've forgotten to tell me where to go afterwards.... :damn:
