Ive deciphered a bit of the morse...
There has been a few posts about the morse signalling from the destroyers.
Tonight I had a chance to copy a little bit of it. The tempo is a bit sloppy and its hard for me to read flashes of light instead of dits and dahs but I did copy this.... "Contact" and "Panre" Contact is repeated many times followed by seemingly jibberish. That is all. |
I've also seen it among American ships when they sight some enemy
ships. If you are in a sub watching enemy AI ships and you see that morse blinking going on, it means they have detected an enemy. If you are the only one there, its YOU they have spotted... JIM |

The lanterns were used throughout the war.
Cant be intercepted by radio :know: |
When running under radio silence though they can't use them so your back to morse code. I'm sure they sent alot of course changes this way. In fact the US used to have enlisted sailors aboard merchant ships just for these things.

I read the morse as; "one large pepperoni pizza and a six pack";). Maybe I got to many dash and dots in there:smug:
|
Sorry, if I ask a dump question, but why do Jap-ships morse in English? :hmm:

When using external view, I can hear sirens from the DD's.
I like their searchlights when looking for you. If you've been detected, their lights latch onto you and wont let go. |

I rarely use the external views, must be why I did not notice the sirens.
ps -I just saw the "Navy Dude" avatar. Is that what I have to look forward to after I get rid of the condom on my head? I think its a plot by Neal to make sure we keep posting until we no longer have dweeby avatars. |
LOL from the Mike Myers look to the George Micheal look
