[REL] Whaler vessel for nations
Just added the big whaler...you should JSME ready added ships for USA, Japan, Canada, Russia...since they had the whalers
AG124 original...just converted it from SH3 download the converted ships at http://hosted.filefront.com/jmjohnson36/ http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/8...mage002pa1.jpg |
Nice...
but you should probably co-ordinate with AG124 as this (and many others) is his ship. He has indicated that he might convert his merchants himself... but he's probably grateful someone has done it for him. Just make sure you convert the latest versions of the ships too. The ones in GWX are the most up to date |
YEAH
I dont know how to get ahold of most of the guys who made the mods for Sh3....I just wanted to get these out for now...:)

Locating Ship's Owners
I've been posting in the SHIV forums a lot lately - I don't know why you didn't see me here. If you had checked, you might have seen that I was planning and already working on my own release of my own ships. You also used the old version of the Whale Factory - the version in GWX has been updated. This is why you need to contact modder before using their work - it is not just a matter of not taking credit for yourself (and I do know that you are not trying to take credit - you specific that with each release, which is good).
You need to talk to Anvart too - he doesn't seem to like your releases of his lighted ships from what he posted in the Hospital Ship thread. I won't put words in his mouth though. |
Whale factory ships usually had a ramp at the back, and twin (side by side) funnels aft (on either side of the ramp), no?
Not sure what is possible in game, just asking/commenting. tater |
Wouldn't it also be polite to now credit the original artists, now you know who they are?
|
IF you look
ITS INCLUDED IN THE DOWNLOAD>>>
look there before you make comments like that. |
Yes but it isn't included here where you are advertising the work (very few people ever read readmes). I know you are not trying to claim credit yourself and I mean no offence.
|
:)
No worries mate....
I believe Arvart knows what I trying to do...he left me a link to his download page...The only thing I take credit for is my IJN KAGA and the converting part which takes a few to get right...especially with more than one texture for a ship!! |
Whale Factory Ship Without Ramp
@ tater - Yes, almost all whale factories had a stern ramp which extended between a pair of funnels. However, I originally based this model on an old construction of the Norwegian whale factory ship Ole Wegger - when originally converted from an old tanker, she had a single funnel and no ramp. She was later rebuilt with the ramp and with the funnel split to make room for it. I believe there may also have been some converted Japanese whale factories without ramps, but I'm not sure. The only Japanese whale factories of which I have ever seen pictures were purpose-built ones which definitely had ramps.
