AA Guns (Gato Class) sight obstructed
I equipped my Gato (early 1942) with a twin 20mm AA gun. The Gato's AA gun is placed in some sort of semi-enclosed mounting. No problem so far, offers a tiny bit more protection than the German 'wintergarten' counterpart.
However, whenever I'm using the gun manually and raise the gun above 0° elevation and turn it to either right or left, all I get to see is a close-up of my conning tower (more specific: the aforementioned 'mounting'). There is no difference between normal zoomed in and zoomed out. It doesn't happen with a single 20 mm AA gun, because you are placed closer to the gun. http://www.derchef.homepage.t-online.de/aagato.jpg No, that's no graphic bug, the outside of the tower just obstructs the view. Does anyone know a workaround? |
Its not a bug, its an "undocumented feature" just like those given to us by Gill Bates. Any EVERYONE loves Gill Bates...right?
Dont complain, or you will be stamped a troll. Think positive, in fact I suggest you send more money to ubi. Just kidding! Its yet another "attention to detail" issue that needs to be fixed. Contrary to some here, I think more people should post bug reports here so that; A) The dev's know the problems and how we feel about them and... B) Help those trying to decide if they should buy this game get a realistic picture of what to expect. |
Been there, done that... Even made a video...
|
Ahh.. yeah I came across that too. But I was pretty sure someone already brought it up and I was too lazy to take a screenshot.

Being a "troll" gets you stamped as a "troll". Know what I'm sayin'? JCC |
Troll - troll is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an established online community such as an online discussion forum to bait users into responding.
It's not only what you say, it's how you phrase what you say. |
Apologist - Apologists have been characterized as being deceptive, or "whitewashing" their cause, primarily through omission of negative facts (selective perception) and exaggeration of positive ones, techniques of classical rhetoric.
As far as myself being labeled a troll, some points. 1) Go back through the SH3 forums, see how much trolling I did. Good luck finding any, because the game worked. 2) We, the gaming community, have become unwitting "beta testers" for increasingly predatory game publishers. 3) SH4 has pushed the envelope far beyond anything I have ever seen since I started gaming back in the DOS days. Thats all for now. |
Did the devs ever play the game and jump into the anti-aicraft double 20mm?
1) They did and ignored the problem. 2) They didnt bother to even check. Only two options I see. |

Excellent point, and seemingly more the norm in SH4 then the exception. You must be a nagging troll. |

I also have Flashpoint, and the Red Hammer as well as Resistance expansions. Again, the game had minor bugs and was patched to working order at 1.96. I have the game installed on this system and I actually prefer it to Armed Assault. On the other hand we have SH4. The latest patch was a joke. The good news is, the dev's wont make the same mistakes in the next patch...the bad news is theyll make all new ones. Expect SH4 to be functional sometime in 2010 at version 1.999! :o |
Hmm, I'm playing SH4 with 1.1 patch, every day, having very engrossing, lively missions and enjoying myself sinking enemy ships.
So even with this game in it's current condition, it is VERY playable....and the bugs getting fixed will be even better. Just my 2cents mind u. |
