Calling all nukes: What kind of subsim skipper are you?
|
Nuke SubSim Skipper
Periscopes are for wimps. Let's face it, any snapperhead can bring a WWII subsim to periscope depth, lock onto the red triangle and plug away. Real men never get closer than 8000 yards to their target. Your subsim of choice is made by a company in Waterford, Conn. You thrive on complex Target-Motion Analysis equations, deciphering broadband contacts, and gauging ESM signal strength. You are paler than Siberian stripper and proud of it. You long for the day you can take your Seawolf class nuke into an online game against a whole fleet of Type VIICs. One ADACP equals "make my day". What else would you expect from a nuke? |
Me too. Although from that 8000yds thing, and some of the questions, it's pretty obvious the author hasn't logged many hours in DW.
|
Also nuke (I am in the SH4 thread, this didn't exist when I did it). 8000yrds is a tad dangerous, though against a ship maybe you would do it. Certainly not a problem if your target is a crappy WW2 sub though. :D

Lol :rotfl:
STRATEGIC SUBSIM SKIPPER - I'm not sure how did I earn this anyway. (shortened) You pray for the day Sonalysts will release a ballistic missile sub. With nukes. Every day is a good day for the other side to die. Your motto is "Be my friend or be a mushroom cloud." |
Another Nuke here ... and I second Molons statement ... obviously the author didnt play that much DW and he certainly didnt use any of the new platforms (relative to SC).
|
Bucking the trend, I'm a HARDCORE subsim skipper. Didn't make the 'nuke' category... may be my age? :dead:
|
I would have pegged you for a role player...unless that's part of the hardcore category...
|
Question #16 should be cos (45), not sin, though both are 0.707...:ping:
|
Nice to see I'm a "casual" sub skipper. It's only my JOB, you know.... (grin)
Admittedly, I'm far better at a rolling scissors on the deck in a P-38 vs. a Zero than I am at TMA... |
I am a "Nuke skipper":arrgh!:. Not what I thought but it's still nice:D

DBFMF:arrgh!:

After my own heart.
Bubblehead Nuke-well said, lets face it, at least in my day, ended 1982 Nukes are proud, we boarder on egotistical, we can be insufferable. But it is hard to be modest when you walk on water. Rickover is still alive and powered by an S6G reactor and lives in Blackfoot Idaho.
This should invoke many comments about my Mom.:rotfl: On a serious note I hope we never incorporate FBMs and Nuke weapons in our Sims. I don't pretend to be an expert on the workings of A/I, but it would seem to me it would launch when it believes it is losing, or simply does not want to play. You know this was consider for real in the late 70s, taking the decision to use nukes out of human hands and put in to computer control. People agreed that it would increase the probability of war. I truly enjoy this site and all that goes on, especially now that I am laid up and can not fish and hunt. You all want to hear "ironic" I am wearing this massive brace and really limited, yesterday my best friend and constant partner, my dog lady, she blew her leg ligament and will have surgery. What a total bummer. Any day in Idaho is a great day, Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret) truly and old nuke, and proud. |

By the way...remember the famous movie quote... Would you like to play a game? |
