Adding Ships to SHIV

What specifies whether a ship will appear without campaign editing are the entries in the various campaign files. I had a quick look at them, and it appears that there are a lot of generic entires for the Japanese (generic entries allow any ship of a particular type to spawn for that entry), but I didn't see any for any other nation. All of the ships which jmjohnson36 has converted so far are type 101 (tanker), 102 (cargo), or 103 (passenger). There are entries in the campaign files for ships of these types, but they specify a stock class - which means that the entry will only spawn that particular type of ship. You can either change an entry to a new class (which is located in the .cfg file for each ship - you can open these with any word processor, like the campaign files) or make it generic by removing the class entry or putting a ; in front of it (I did this to my entire .rnd SHIII campaign file). I could go into more details, but I'm too busy right now. |
