OK on to the goods. Directors Cut AEM mod 1.0 beta is a mod that will give video makers and with some limited utility Players as well the ability to order your crew onto a zig zag course mainly for surface maneuvers however feel free to experiment with it submerged the turns arent so tight that a submerged sub shoulnt make them. Players will need to plan there approach to make one of the available courses viable as the evasive courses dont necessarily "turn with your boat" Directors cut removes the search patterns in vanilla or the search pattern and kiel canal enter and exit in GWX and replaces them with three identically measured Zig zag straightline courses. they are Pattern 1 (north south / in testing it just depends which way your facing this one will folow your boats course as long as your pretty much in polar alignment one way or the other) Pattern2 east to west. (there are known issues with this pattern see below) pattern3 west to east (same as above) each pattern is about 8.5 km long and consists of fifty waypoints set approximately 200 ft apart this was done using a template I built. you can extend patterns by simply pressing the desired pattern a second time or build a 90 degree pattern or box using all pattern types. I have included the Mis file called Patterntemplate and as the name implies it is a template mission file in whch Ihave layed out some tugs with waypoints to create a series of reference lines following the cardinal points of the compass. now feel free to experiment but wide zig zags with acute angles will create instability in your sub if so you need to rework it either shallower or longer dont forget to set the speed of the sub prior to laying out your waypoints or you may need to redo them. and dont forget to point the sub to head to waypoint once course is layed out or course will be 90 degrees perpendicular to subs course. when using pattern template to make a pattern of your own the final step is delete all tugs and waypoints leaving only the sub and its waypoints and then save. Known issues. if you are using Mission editor 1 from sh3 you may have to have the sub facing 180 degrees opposite the zig zag when saving in order for it to appear ahead of the sub when laying the course why I have no idea ME2 for sh3 seems to save them correctly with sub pointing towards zig zag both when saved and when course plotted. Pattern 2 will tend to reverse on itself if you pre lay the extension prior to getting near the end of the pattern, why im not sure I think this may have been a leftover bug from an ME 1 save so I resaved it all in ME 2 prior to bagging it up it may work now but this aspect hasnt been retested to delete an entire pattern use eraser and press shift. recommended for use with longerwakes mod. however testing shows that the view of the wake is much shorter from ahead of your where as behind the sub it is much longer. Video makers warning: sometimes it may be desireable to up the speed of the sub your filming when you want to capture that really racey effect. be advised that at thirty knots you will regularly outrun longer wakes and your wake will dissipate and vanish. in testing I discoverd a highspeed wake recovery maneuver if this happens you need only hit either [ or ] to start your sub onto a loop back around as you get about three quarters of the way around the wake will remanifest itself loop twice and the recovered wake will last longer imagine spooling it up as it were. the beauty of wake recovery maneuver is that on film it looks just like your trying to put the moves on an attacking aircraft or ship so the audience wont see it. Longer wakes appears to sustain itself fine at normal speeds but the above maneuver will work if needbe. also in an emergency where your going to lose the image slowing down a gear or two may help extend and slightly recover a fading wake. To work with patterns you will need to open them in mission ed they can be found here along with the template. if you have the mod active when you make your own pattern that is also patterns you make while the mod is active will dissapear when you deactivate it so if you want to keep your own youll need to open this same file and copy and back them up prior to deactivating the mod (for this operation it is recommended you back up the mod patterns or mod itself too) C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Menu\Patterns Gentlemen I give you handfree filming and surface attacks [edit] I Forgot to put in that hitting RTC will occasionally relay the course back at the original point or at least with pattern 2 however hopefully the last wash through ME2 Save might have cleared this but I couldnt garauntee it. Funny though I was going to ask you the same thing..... about the therapy I mean:yep: |
you sure come up with some interesting ideas - and names... :hmm:
still, I'll download it, you never know when there is a use for it... thanks |
Well like I said its mainly aimed at video making types who Im sure
would like the handfree thing in set piece scene shooting. but as long as you plan an approach from an appropriate direction ( one with available auto evasion ) then it can serve some limited use in a regular game. |
:yep::yep:Mush Trademark, to please and confuse, all at the same time:rotfl::rotfl:
