Could you spend a day looking at all U-boats?

I am reading allot on uboataces.com, great site BTW, and I was just day dreaming, could you imagine if they lined up every U-boat made and gave you a day by yourself to just explore each one? Climb into each of them and walk around one by one..

Do you think a day would be enough or to long?

Imagine being able to take them out to sea with an experinced crew, would you be nervous about diving in a vintage ( but operational ) U-boat?

If everything were functioning, I could imagine spending a good portion of one day just crawling through a VIIc. Hell I would eat up half a day just taking pictures :p

I could spend a day just listening to the intro music in GWX.... Give me a real sub and I'll probably just live there... I practically live in a sub anyway

I could EASILY spend an entire day exploring every nook and cranny of a single a WW2 diesal boat, let alone all of them.

I does not even have to function, heck I'd bring my own mp3 player and take the sound files with me. If that wasn't enough I might even start making my own noises, ok so I'd have to leave before the guys in white suites come for me. n/p

Yea - totally. It would be cool to see all the engineering details - like take up the floor plates - see everything that the mechanics had access to during damage control, etc.

you guys are sick...

j/k

I could spend months in just one of them. It took a qualitfied crew months of time and years of training to learn everything about the boat...

I could never have enough time.

Exactly, there are so many small opearating details I would love to learn.

But then I am a confirmed WWII subnut as I am sure all of us are.

I mean how normal can we be? We post technical details on a video game forum LoL

Jimbuna 04-06-07 11:08 AM

Well just remember you'll need an awful lot of oxygen bottles because most of em are at the bottom of the sea (may their crews rest in peace) :arrgh!:
