XXI in career...
 

Just wondering if its possible to start a career with a XXI? They are rediculously quiet!

Yes. You have to start later in the war and go into the files and change your delta renown to buy one, but it's possible to start a career with a XXI.

Ok so how exactly do I change your default amount of renown?

Start/Setup a career in SH3 with the XXI, load your first mission but exit to base straight away. Then go into 'My Documents' and find the Patrol_0.cfg file inside your save folder, open it and edit the 'Deltarenown' to any figure you like. This will edit your starting renown so you can pimp your ride. There is another Patrol.cfg inside your save folder edit this one too to read the same. By default they are the last 2 files listed in your save folder.

Why not just download SH3 Commander which lets you have one when you create your profile from it.

With GWX I can get one late 44. Dunno if thats different for a stock user.

I use GWX 1.03, you can use SH3C to get one?

Yeah I got it to work...the XXI is a beast! I just sunk 12 ships for nearly 90k including an escort carrier :arrgh!: (I know its only a small one bit its still a carrier! :P). I was going for a big cruise liner but I got jumped by a DD before I could get into position :damn:.

From a different angle, what file contains the renown cost of the XXI...I would like to reduce mine to a more reasonable amount than 30K. I very quick look around and could not find it? did change the cost of all torps to 0 awhile back, I don't like spending renown on weapons.

I actually just did a search for "30000" In the basic.cfg and changed them all to 0. The damn XXI is still showing as 30000 renown...going to have to investigate further...

Edit: Stupid me...had a modded basic.cfg being loaded with JSGME...duh

I thought the XXI was 20k? Just alter the amount of renown you have and get it :p, would be easier than having to change the amount needed to actually get the XXI.

Agreed. It's much simpler to alter your delta renown. Make yourself a millionaire...then you can pimp out your boat and make it one sweet ride. :up:

I got so much renown I got tons of it to give away for a sum of £10. :yep:
