I was with only 1 torp left and I hit a small merchant with it, 4th patrol in my type IID

Hopefully after this mission I have enough Renown to get the VII
and then after that get the IX2

In anycase I hit the small merchant but he wouldn't sink, I gave him 400 rounds of flak and still nothing, then 2 DD's came and I just went next to the ship and went to periscope depth.. I was so mad because I didn't sink him, so you know what I did? Brought my periscope up, the two DD's fired like crazy and hit me a couple times, but in the same token they hit the merchant and sure enough she sank.. I don't know if I am going to get credit for it, but I hope so

No I start my career in the 2 flottilla I really love them big boats.:rock:

I did it once about 4 months ago was outa torps and ammo so there was a dd nearby stuck my scope fairly close to the merchy so that the dd wouldnt dc me and lo and behold it put a few hundred rounds into the merchant and i got the kill for it well done the RN lol:rotfl: :rotfl:

The IX is about 30% bigger than the VII, which makes it a bigger target. it is slow to submerge but carries a large torpedo load and has longer range.
