Autosave option would be nice

On a video editing software program that I own, there is the option to auto save every 1, 5, 10, 15 minutes etc. The software automatically saves the project for you at the given interval and therefore ensures that you can always reload the current project after a CTD, power outage or whatever and only be a few minutes back from where you were at the time of the crash.

I think this would be nice to have as an option in Silent Hunter 4 and future games.

Thoughts, guys?

Agreed. That would be a very nice feature.

Good idea.

It would be a great idea except that saves under a number of conditions are apparently corrupt---and have been since SH3---so the autosaves would be useless a fair % of the time. ;)

Can't believe they didn't think that was a SH3 showstopper. Yeesh.

yes a good feature for sure. several games include this already europa universalis and total war games come to mind

This is a good idea in principle, but as has already been said, if saves are iffy then it is possible that your recovery save will be corrupt. I think it is essential that the save game bugs are ironed out, because this is a major spoiler.
