Weird Damage...
 

I had just finished sinking a flat top, when I started getting loads of warnings like fuel low, batteries low, o2 low etc and I just sank like a brick to the bottom. I thought I had been rammed by a DD or something but I hadn't there wasn't an escort in sight, no physical damage...completely random! Has anyone else experianced this?

Yeah, sounds like mines. Don't know though. Too bad the crew doesn't say something like... "We've hit a mine sir and we are taking some serious damage!"

Didn't they know IRL that they had hit a mine? A mine does 'explode' doesn't it? which brings up the point that(if you're at 1x tc anyway) it seems like you should hear/see an explosion.

Based on my experiments, it APPEARS to be aircraft. Were you still at Periscope depth?

A mine...in the middle of the Pacific??? lol talk about bad luck if it was. And yes I was at periscope depth I think...either that or had just started to dive.

My suspicision is aircraft. Sicne there is no watch crew, it all happens without warning. then you go into the death spiral...

Well it sounds to me like he was at 1x TC. Were you at 1x Steel_Tomb? If you were I would think you'd know if it was an aircraft.
