GWX mod, how do I refuel??
I started at keil in 1939, I had to patrol an81, or something like that..
I ran the entire way at slow speed. and by the time I got there I realized there is no way I would make it back.. If I dock at another friendly base it says I failed. I read the manual but maybe I couldn't find it because its not in there.. You can refuel some how right? BTW this GWX is SICK!! The sounds alone make this mod by far the best, crashing into things seems so real, and I jump every time because of the way it sounds and my crew jump all over the place.. Anyway I hope to enjoy this game even more, I ran out of torps on this patrol ( Type II only 5 torps ) but suck 1 ship worth 5000 tons, I hope thats not "To bad" |
I don't quite understand the 'failed' bit :hmm:
Normally you would sail to within 30km of the friendly port and press the 'Esc' key then choose the optipn to end patrol at ******* :arrgh!: |

Why can't I jsut "REFUEL" |
Also, how do I increase the time compression?
I need mroe than 1024x Isn't there a file I can increase without downloading anything? I have no internet at my house at the time, I thought I could go into the config files or something.. ANYHELP? |
Are you using SH3Commander?

Or can I just install commander? |
You will need the SH3commander 1.02 cfg
Below my sig Unfortunately you cant just refuel in SH3 Stock SH3 you couldnt even use resupply\milkcows Docking at a resupply or any friendly port will end your current patrol You will start the next one with a NULL grid to get home |
I wanted to know this the other day, starting at keil I just had enough fuel to get me to the mission grid with a few drops to spare, no, good, the refueling bit of SH3 is dog poo I'm afraid, I just restarted with no refuel limit. This is one of the places SH4 excels, easy refueling and refitting without breaking the mission.

One thing I learned: check the amount of distance you will get with Slow and with 1/3 (get the navigator to give those distances to you). You may be surprised to find that the boat operates more efficiently at 1/3 than at slow and you'll get more distance at the faster speed. Also get used to going to periscope depth and run electric intermittantly with the diesels to save fuel. As I recall putting in at another friendly port also costs you an additional month in time. Don't I recall one can set the time compression in the Main.cfg or Basic.cfg file? |
Yeah, its definitely true. Going 1/3 seems to be the sweet spot, at least for the IIA class subs. I can get almost 4,000km according to the navigator at 1/3 whereas I get maybe 1,200km with standard or full. Crazy.
