captain's log/messages - problem / metric/imperial system
I have this problem everytime.
When I try to press button captain's log (K) , messages (M) or that on the right side (close to time compression) game is freezing (sound is repeating) for min. 1 min. After a while Captain's log is visible and game is running. Have you had such problem ? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif How to fix it - I hate such long interruption ? my spec : Intel Pentium 4 CPU with 3,2 GHz 1,5 GB RAM GeForce 6600 (256 MB) Gigabyte GA-81848P Procesor FSB 200 MHz x 16 +++ I patched SH4 to 1.1 but ... Can somebody tell me how to change from imperial to metric system ? (recognition manual is in metric and sub. depth in feet, as well as, n.miles on nav. map and position keeper in metric) ! |
Yea, setting imperial units only changes the nav map and depth controls. Ranges are still in meters. Topedo ranges in manual are in yards. The devs really need to straighten out the units.

It's not just your specs. Game locks up on me there, too.
I recently upgraded to a Core 2 Duo 6700 OC'd to 3.3 GHz, 2 gigs of RAM, overclocked 8800GTS, and so on, and it takes what seems like forever for the captain's log/messages/objectives clipboard to come up. The entire game freezes. On my old system (P4 3.06), the captain's log screen on SH3 came up instantly. On SH4, it's a game pause of unknown length before you can do anything else. I really like the extra radio traffic and more updates on ships, convoys, and task forces with SH4, but you'd think they would make it where a contact message only stays in the queue for so many hours (or maximum number of messages to display) before they get removed. It's one thing for a long patrol to take longer to load because of more sunken ship icons on the map and in the captain's log, but the received messages queue needs to be reduced. In the meantime, I'll take a look at the contacts.cfg file like in the posted link. |
