Sub equipment changes not taking effect...

Hey all,

When I make an addition to my sub, like a new set of AA guns for instance, nothing takes effect. There are no new weapons on the Sub, it's the same old AA armament as before. I drag the new weapon system over to my Sub, and "drop" it in the box....but there is nothing in-game.

Anybody else?

The multi .50s seem to just control where your deck gun is mounted.

There is no multi .50 AAgun..

They forgot to add the inch or " : it's a 3"/50 deck gun, or 4"/50 deck gun.
the way they put it- "4 50" is very confusing....

You know... the sad thing is I'm such a noob, I don't even really know the difference between the 3 50 and the 4 50... I wish the game would give specs. Unlike some people, I don't have every sub, torpedo, subsystem, and upgrades memorized. :\

the first number is the shell diameter in inches. For the metric people like me: 3 inches is 76 mm, 4 inches is 102 mm and 5 inches is 127mm the second number is the "caliber length" that means the lenght of the barrel. so a 4 inch caliber 50 weapon has a diameter of 4 inches and a lenght of 50 x 4 inches.

Calibre is actually a French term meaning the inside diameter of the barrel. A .50 calibre machine gun has an inside diameter of .50 inches, or 1/2 inch.

With a naval rifle (as the deck guns are actually called, the first number is the diameter, or calibre. A 4" gun is 4 inches in diameter. The /50 refers to the length of the gun in calibres, or barrel diameters. Thus, a 4"/50 is four inches in diameter, and the length of the interior of the barrel is 4 inches x 50, or 200 inches, or aproximately 16.666 feet, or 16 feet 8 inches.

After my last patrol, somehow my deck gun has disappeared. I "buy" another one and put it in the upgrade box, but never have a spot to man the thing.

Anyone have this problem at all? Ways around it? Thought I would grab this wonderful topic from last month instead of making new.....

I have the same problem. I bought a new AA gun and that one works but then I bourgt a cannon and now i have no spot for the cannon crew. I can still shot it myself but can't assign crew.

Do you get the same sub if you transfer? Maybe that could fix the problem.
