Cannot end patrol! PLEASE ADVISE
 

It's 1942 and I am in command of the USS S-18 and I can't end my 3rd patrol. I left Surabaya (Java) with orders to patrol the Celebes Sea... I finished that and sank 6 ships. The anchor symbol disappeared from Surabaya before I got back, which I assumed meant that the Japanese had captured it. I have sailed to Brisbane, Fremantle, Pearl Harbor and Midway and tried to end my patrol. The only options I have when I get to any of the bases is POSTPONE or REFIT. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW OR WHERE I CAN END MY PATROL?? I can only imagine that after sailing around for over 12 weeks, my men want to get off the boat LOL. Thank you for your help!!

wow - have you tried going back to your original base?

you might just see what happens - approach it cautiously incase it is under enemy control.

if that doesnt work you might try to "refit" at one of the other bases and see what happens

Maybe this is one of the "crack bugs", I don't know? Are you using the retail DVD and without NoCD cracks?

I should note though, that even with the legal download version one doesn't get a 'base transferred to...' message - so it can be a tad confusing.

I never got as far as actually trying to transfer though...

I am using the retail DVD with patch 1.1. I tried going back to surabaya and as I pulled up, I got no message to end patrol AND I started getting shelled... by shore batteries I'm guessing. As I said before... then I sailed ALL OVER to Fremantle, Brisbane, Pearl Harbor, Midway, and since my last post I've sailed to Dutch Harbor and I still cannot end my patrol! All I can do is "refit". Any other suggestions? Maybe from the devs??

This happens if you start in 1941 at Manila too. Manila will be captured and you will be left without a base to dock at.

If the USN is not going to support you anymore its time to defect.
Head over to Cairns and scuttle your boat, I hear its nice there this time of year :)

I'm having similiar problems as deathfrombelow. After changes bases from Manila to Surubaya and trying to start my second warpatrol I don't get any torpedo reloads either. Does anyone have any constructive help they can offer instead of jokes.

OK... I just went to San Francisco and San Diego and the same thing... only lets me REFIT, not END PATROL. I have officially gone to every single base the USN controls in 1942 and I can't end my patrol!!! :damn: :damn: :damn: THIS IS MADDENING!!!

Seriously though it's gotta be a bug, when Manila was captured I went to the port you started at and ended parol just fine.

Yeah i have the same problem.... only on my first patrol :o

The problem is theres no anchor pic..... where does it appear in the screen ?

Base Progression
 

I started a career in Manilla (Dec 41'), my base moved to Surabya. My second patrol out of Surabya, it was also lost. My base was transfered to Fremantle, now my third patrol is from Fremantle to patrol north of Surabya.......

I was stuck for where to go from manilla went straight past surabya to fremantle and could only refit, went around to brisbane also could only refit. reloaded save from refit in Fremantle and headed north to Surabya and the end mission was allowed.

So depending on the dates, the Base progression is

Manilla - Falls shortly after leaving for patrol, transfers to;
Surabaya - Also Falls between leaving and completeing patrol area assigned then to;
Fremantle - where asiatic fleet remains as Far as I'm up to USS S-36 from Manilla now conducting 3rd patrol out of Fremantle.

Figure its related to the manual replenish between patrols.

I figured it out. Thanks to you guys I had an idea... I tried reloading it as I was just leaving the Celebes Sea... and I sailed right to Fremantle and I was able to end Patrol there. Thank God! Now I have been given command of USS Permit. At this rate, I wont have a GATO class until 1944. I may start a new career at Pearl.

A refit will refuel and restock torpedoes in the racks but not reload the tubes
Docking - you have to select the weapon loadout manually
