Ok back to the atlantic...

I think for the moment im geting back to the atlantic. My sistem specs( P4 3.0, 1,5 Gb ddr, Gforce 6600 Gt AGP) ran Sh3 fine but in Sh4, its all choppy and slow, mainly in the control room of the purpose and tambor, in S-class runs fine in the control room so i think its another bug, the graphics in Sh3 were better in my opinion now all its kind of blurry and foggy, plus the game is full of bugs (A key, speed function not working etc) and the patrols are so, so far away, its not like geting from germany to england i ddint had the idea it was so far away to patrol it gets kind of boring and i never was a high tc apologist, but mainly the control room bug its the one that annoys me more, so for the time being im off to the atlantic. Maybe when patch 1,4 is out i will return:cry:.

I have to agree with you here. GWX outclasses SH4 in so many ways. The Graphics look TERRIBLE on my LCD, screen tearing is horrid, sound bugs (when I hit ' to return my rudder to neutral my CE says "Rudder..Rudder..Rudder"). Not being able to click on my officers to "take over thier position", missing depth markings (safe depth, critical depth)..... Im just very dissapointed right now. I hope the devs make this right.

This is just a few of the bugs I have experienced in 4 hrs of play. SH3 sad to say is just more immersive of an environment.

The screen tearing is from V-Sync being off.

The devs are working on FSAA as well as the issue with higher resolutions not working.

That will go a looong way to fixing SH4...

Is there a way to turn Vsync on with SH4?

Yes, go to....

X:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Cfg

and open up the file 'Main.cfg'.

Then look for the line...

Synchronized=No

change 'No' to 'Yes'.

Hope that helps

What does v sync do? Does it require additional graphic power like AA?

Im am only TEMPORARILY going back to the Atlantic, to practice some TDC shooting and interceptings. Until they get the Chronometre Speed bug fixed. Having a great time sinking some C2`s and T3`s :D

Actually, I changed my V-Sync to "on" in My Documents/SH4/Data/Cfg/Main.cfg under [Graphics]. That's where it needs to be adjusted. Made a big difference.

I thought I was seeing some tearing even I had changed it! I changed it in the wrong 'Main.cfg' file. And it need to be changed to "On" instead of "Yes"? Doh!

Thank you!

I just read another thread and I think it's supposed to be set to "Yes" and not "On". Or does either one work?

Why didn't they just have this in the games graphic options? :88)

Oops! I think it was "yes" but maybe "on" worked too. *shrug*

I do know you need to change the config file in the My Documents folder though.

OneTinSoldier 03-24-07 03:23 PM

Whatever the case... thanks. I think my way would work if you've never fired up the game at all yet, but I had.
