Britain, you rock

Britain says no to Snoop Dogg ... again

Quote:

LONDON, England (AP) -- British authorities denied rapper Snoop Dogg a visa for a series of planned concerts, publicists for his tour said in a statement Saturday.
Snoop Dogg, co-headlining a European tour with fellow star P Diddy, had been expected to play five dates in Britain.
"Snoop and his team are mystified at the decision and are hoping that the British government will reconsider this decision," spokeswoman Celena Aponte said in a statement.
"He has asked how he can help rectify the situation and would happily talk to and give assurances to the officials."
Whatever the outcome, a planned concert at London's Wembley Arena on Tuesday will go ahead with P Diddy and the rest of the show, she said.
A spokeswoman for the Home Office said she couldn't comment on an individual case, but did point out that foreign citizens could be barred from entering the country if there were concerns about their presence.

from what point of view do you see this as good, Neal?

Sounds to me that the Brits are showing some class.

Should they let an unapologetic drug dealing former pimp with a penchant for carrying weapons onto airliners into their country?

I believe UK immigration policy only allows non-celebrity foreigners to come into the country to earn large amounts of money.

I see... so it's ok to only disallow high profile undesirables* into the uk; if you're a nobody with a grudge against the west and a penchant for making explosives or inciting violence (you don't have to have a hook-hand, but it can help) then we welcome you with open arms and once we find out how bad you are we'll invite you to enjoy the comfortable hospitality of her majesty's pleasure a the british tax payers expense.
Way to go 'hard line brittain'. Tought on crime, tough on the people who play to represent crime, but only if everyone knows who they already are. /tumbleweed

*by 'undesirables' I mean not squeaky clean individuals like snoop-whatever. At least he makes no apology for what he is and doesn't try and hide it behind false intentions.

He's far from clean and I see no false intentions on the part of the British government in this instance.

jumpy 03-25-07 08:12 PM

I wasn't referring to the guy being clean, nor the integrity of the british governments intentions. Rather I was referring to him being a dodgy fellow, but unlike some of the false immigration applicants/visitors to the UK we have, he doesn't try and hide his 'reputation' as a bit of a crimm'. He might be a bad boy, but al least if we let him into the country he's not going to try and bomb us and subvert our western way of life. If anything, I'd say snoop-whatever is a result at the furthest end of the scale of what our liberal western culture is capable of producing and elevating to high status. Odd that aint it? hehe

Which was RETARDED.

Rilder 03-25-07 11:59 PM

Damn you BRITAIN! our whole plan was to dump him in Britain and deny his entry back into American soil, but you foiled our plan. :nope: :damn: :rotfl:

Kapitan_Phillips 03-26-07 02:16 AM

Ahh if only Ray Charles were alive. He'd kick the crap out of Snoop for associating rap with music.

Come on. Its just shouting to a drum machine about how your "ho" once stole your "bling" when she "bounced up outta here" ;)

However, we still let every other Tom, Dick & Harry in, then house them, pay for their living costs & loose them when they're due to be deported.:nope:
