Obsessive? (My Exodus for SH4..)
 

Well, I tried to find the game locally... but alas.. no such luck...

Roundtrip: 160 miles

Stores checked: Wal-Mart 3, GameStop 2, EbGames 1, Hastings 2, Best Buy 1, Target 1...

Normally I would have just ordered in on-line, but alas my Apprenticeship does not pay. So I had scrounged up $50 (been saving since the end of Feb). I checked the local Wal-mart and Hastings lastnight. I work 40 miles from home (Pendelton,OR), Checked a Wal-Mart and GameStop there. Heck, I figure, there is a plethora of stores in the Tri-Cities (Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick, Wa) so I drive 30 miles from Pendleton to Hermiston, Or and check the Wal-mart there in passing (il2: 1946 is out in america, btw :up:), then Drove 22 miles to the Tri-cites, where I checked the remaining stores.. (at least 10-20 miles in town driving.). So, I just bought Dawn of War: The Dark Crusade and drove the 60ish miles back here.. :damn:

Hello all...Long time 'lurker'

I thought I'd chime in here just to let you know that it CAN get worse..I did the drive n' hunt today as well...about 3 hours worth of it..Similarly having no luck, I settled on the download version..After an eight hour download, my PC just up and locked up at 97% finished (NO I am NOT making this up!) ...totally lost the download...I don't know whether to laugh or cry..Oh well..I guess it's hunt's on again tommorow....

It was a Ford Contour... only about a 1/4 a tank :shifty:

I have the the DoW and the first expansion as well.

But, unfortunately, I have to start saving alllll over again (well $32.00...) and IL2: 1946 is out.... was tempting, but the last store I ended up at didn't have it.. ( all three Wal-marts did)

I didn't mention that prior to all this driving... I was riding around during work... so from 10am to 8pm I was in a car... and both were compact... (I am in the 6' 8" range.. )

Just a little advice here for next time; Call those stores querying if they have a product in stock that you are looking for, and request them if they can hold it for you until you arrive to pick it up. Save gas, minimize traffics, and your time.


I haven’t brought this game yet until UBI get to make a new patch that remove Starfarce off SH3 so I can play without system crashing or problems from it. While they haven’t, I figured I won’t be satisfied with SH4 until they do. I am not surprise there bugs and problems on SH4, I am sure most of them will be iron out someday, just like SH3.


One of my friend works at one of EB store, he told me his manager being selective putting aside the shipping packages of some new PC games in closets or hide them somewhere which he refused to put them on shelves, but only report that no one is buying them after several weeks so he send them back. He is being grudge against some gaming companies or publishers because of their fewer shipping, their delaying, bugs in games, and games being incomplete, problems like starfarce and such, which encouraging a lot of customers’ returns. He does that to some specifically PC games only from what he read reviews on them before putting them on shelves. I don’t know if he also hold his grudge against SH4 this time, last time I know he did that when Star Trek Legacy came out which I don’t blame him. Of course I didn’t buy that game. ;) Since few years, I have learned to be patience and read reviews as long it takes before making a decision to buy a game. Anyway, maybe one of those stores you visited do have them in stock but not on shelves, I guess maybe their managers aren’t the only ones with grudges like my friend's manager lol. :D
