USN Subs test depths according to German SH4 Site.
Celeon999 posted the following information on the Ubisoft Forums:
The german SHIV site has published the test depth values for all subs in the game as these are obviously missing in the game. They are sadly in meters only : (I've made the conversion to feet; 3.3 ft = 1 meter) This is just the value guaranteed by the dock not the actual crush depth ! S-Klasse - Testtauchtiefe: 60 m -> 198 feet Porpoise-Klasse - Testtauchtiefe: 75 m -> 247 feet Salmon-Klasse - Testtauchtiefe: 75 m -> 247 feet Sargo-Klasse - Testtauchtiefe: 75 m -> 247 feet Tambor-Klasse - Testtauchtiefe: 75 m -> 247 feet Gar-Klasse - Testtauchtiefe: 75 m -> 247 feet Gato-Klasse - Testtauchtiefe: 90 m -> 297 feet Balao-Klasse - Testtauchtiefe: 120 m -> 396 feet I'm at work at the moment so I can't spend a lot of time of this but can someone check if these test depths are accurate? |
Tambor and Gar are both T-class submarines and their operational maximum depth is 90m (297 ft) according to submarine literature. The Balao 95m, the GATO 120m.

Just took my Gato class to 300 feet evading Escorts during a convoy attack, no problems. Ship and crew survived undamaged. :D

John Doe’s first command (Tambor-class) got squished at 90 m. of depth after torpedoing a BB.

WIKI
Just found these WIKI pages:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ed_States_Navy Funny thing is that the Gar class is not listed... I have to do some more research. Weird, according to WIKI the SS Gar was a Tambor class, I wonder why it was modelled as a separate class in SH4. |
I tried my Salomon class depth.
Took it to 325ft. No problemo! /VV |
