Cancel Order vs Sub Sim support question/Amazon (merged)
 

I just got off the phone with Amazon.com. Even though we all pre-ordered (feb 20th), they made a mistake in placing their pre-order info with Ubisoft. All of the games that they rec'd are already gone. They will not be getting anymore in until the 29th of March. I cancelled my order with them, and called Ubisoft. I was told that Ubisoft can take my order over the phone, but it won't be processed for 24 hours. If I order from the website, I can have it overnighted with fed-ex. Go to Ubisoft, unless you want to wait for another 8-10 days.....

Salute all,
Although somewhat disappointed by the need for a patch straight from the box, I know I'm going to play the game, so that's that. However:
I ordered through the subsim site to support this wonderful resource. If I cancel my amazon order now, will that impact this site's revenue? If it will, and if we are only talking a day or two delay on Amazon's part, then I'll let my order be. If it is no skin off SubSim, and/or if Amazon has no clue when they are going to ship, then I guess I'll shop elsewhere.
A little guidance would be appreciated.

Guess I'll cancel my order. I can always donate or buy something else through the subsim store to offer support.

I appreciate the support but if you have any doubts about Amazon's delivery timing, you should cancel and get it at a store or express from Ubi. The sales of games does help Subsim but I don't want anyone waiting extra days to play :nope: I am counting on Amazon sales of SH4 picking up from guys buying it in April, May and beyond.

You can always make a donation here, even the little $5 helps a lot,
or buy a copy of our book, the 2007 Submarine Almanac (which is like a donation but you get a cool book to read).

Doesn't it baffle you that Ubi would rush SH4 but then make it into an annoying anti-climax with this joke of a release? Usually when you're rushing a project you're taking care to make sure that it gets delivered.
