Well....green is good camo when charging across the fields of France I guess...not so good for the Afrika Korps....

I'm pretty sure I've seen a picture like that cover with a hammer/sickle instead, mayby How green were the Russians?

The picture on the cover of the book reminded me of when they found the trees in the shape of the nazi cross.

The minute they showed it on TV I knew that the next day they would go there and lop the trees down, and that's what happend!:yep:

They really was green, at least sort of.

Out of the political side, their youth organization (Hitlerjugend ?), was mid way between boy scouts and bird watchers.

Are you sure ???? The stuff I know about it make me conclude it was between Boyscouts and Basic Army training. And then more leaning towards Army Training !

You are totally right. I simply included the Basic Army training under what I called "political side" of the whole thing.

Italian situation was really similar, even using other names.

I think everyone here except Waste Gas and I are missing the BIG picture of this.
