No credit can I edit?
 

I downed a large tanker in over 1000m of water and did not get the shes going down message or credit for the sinking. Is there an easy way to edit the tanker back into my patrol report?

no m8 i dont think there is tbh

You could look in your documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\your name\Log_the number of your patrol.cfg. It´s editable so you could possibly add your ship there.
But don´t hang me if doing so screws your game, OK:up:

Strange thing is that I had to reload a previous save and I sent the same tanker to the bottom with no credit again. Seems to be some sort of ghost ship or something. Not worth crewing my game over though. Im saving renown for an IXB,...got back to bas and had 6448 renown. Just short of the 6500 needed for the IXB. If only I hadnt wasted my fish on that damn ghost ship.

It was probably one of the dummy ships that were sent out and made of cardboard

Bernard obviously was making little boats out of newspaper and whatnot... one of them got so close to the periscope it looked like an actuall ship so you torpedoed it.
