lucky bug? - bombed hard, but minor damage

Last night while playing GWX I got ambushed by aircraft - two large ones (bombers of some kind). It was too late to dive, and too rough to bring out my AA gunners. They lined up the perfect attack, and even with my crude evasion, managed to drop 2 bombs each right in the water beside my conning tower - so that the screen was obscured by water and the boat rocked to the side fiercly. My heart sank - just waiting for the long list of damage and fatalities to surface. But it never did - minor damage to the foward deck and the AA guns, and a 'Hull Damaged' message. No casualties, no flooding. I crash dive as the depth increases I'm expecting the hull to fold, but no. I take her down to 160, and she's fine. A lucky bug I guess? Still, I play DiD, and I kinda feel that DinD in this case.

VERY lucky indeed. I have had Hurricanes strafe me with MG fire as I crash dived and got 15% or more hull damage and fatalities...

Bombers miss aircraft carriers. I suspect hitting a small sub that is trying to evade would be fairly difficult, especially early in the war

I think you can get lucky. I little while ago I caught a depth charge near enough to do minor damage to my rear tubes, once repaired I noticed that the hull integrity was still 100%. Never seen that before.
