was i followed be a DD or was it a capital ship?
so i was heading to my patrol grid(DT56) and was off the coast of spain when i got a radio transmission saying enemy warship reported. The report showed a contact north of england so i didn't pay attention to it. Then, the contact kept updating itself along the path i had taken when i rounded northern england. all the way down to spain. I desided to try to intercept this mysterious contact when it reached the coast of spain but could not find it and hte contact seemed to vanish in the direction of gibraltar.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...er%203/WTF.jpg so could this have been a lone DD or a BB/CV on its way to the med? year is feb/march 1940 |
It's possible.

if you look at the theater map that ships stock with the game you will see that there is a similar route called the "gibralter - liverpool route" it is not exactly the same, but close. perhaps that was it.

It's actually a TF,I know it comes up saying something like "warship in grid xxxx heading ssw speed 23knts" but if you get close enough to it it's a TF consisting of 2 nelsons,1 revenge class,1 illustrious carrier,2 cruisers,and a couple of DD's I intercepted it once but could not do nothing about it (no torps) I assume your playing GWX.

22 Battleships in one task force? If this was GWX 1.02 you may want to report this as an error, so it can be fixed (unless it was D-Day or something).
|
No no he meant 2 battleships at about 22 knots. I have also seen this TF travel along the coast line and head in towards Gibralter. If you wait long enough you should run into it.

@NipplesTheCat
I hope you're right that Brag's, "I've seen similar TF from a distance once, 22 BBs 1 LC and a slug of DDs", is just a mistype. Would make for an interesting task force to attack, however.:) |
