Convoy of subs?

I intercepted it and there was a huge merchant convoy (?), only that half of it was on fire! No sign of subs though. After sinking three ships from the convoy i gave escorts a slip and headed in opposite direction to that of convoy. When i surfaced it wasn't long untill my WO spotted a stationary VIIC u-boot.
Was that a wolfpack attacking a convoy by any chance? That would explain so many merchants on fire.
What do you recon?

If your using GWX its possible i've had subs attacking a convoy with me before (or at least they were just behind it doing nothing :rotfl:.

That means there is a wolf pack attacking the convoy. They are added in as part of the GWX. They can only use their deck guns though and attack on the surface, so they don't last long.

The convoy leader ( name only ) is a VIIC in that convoy thats why it shows a round icon
When the subs are sunk it will go back to a square one

Yes that would explain the ships on fire

I've seen 3 VIICs behind a convoy that I'd just attacked, was one of them moments that reminds you why GWX is so great. (not that you need many :P)

I always thought the convoys were getting hit by the Luftwaffe, didn't know the UBoats engaged them w/deck guns, cool :)

And then there is this Black Swan from hell. On fire, with roasting crews at their stations who will appear over the horizon and come straight for you. :dead: :dead: :nope:
