When at primary school in form 2 class (aged about 12) I and two others sneaked into the headmasters office and stole his strap, ( the strap they used to strap us on the hand when a bad boy!) cut it up in little square pieces and put it back in his draw. We got sick of him strapping us so we thought we did teach him a lesson. We thought it was funny the teachers were really really pissed off. For days we never gave in. Took them weeks before they found out who did it. When they did find out we got 6 on each hand from his now brand new leather strap which wasn't broken in so it was hard as a rock and he really made sure it hurt, actually i remeber the impression on his face as he swrung his arm to do the blows - like a blardy psycho!. What made it worse is we would quickly pull our hand back just before it striked us so he would miss, this only made him even more madder. :rotfl:

Then he suspended us for 3 days we all thought YAE!! a holiday! our parents weren't impressed i had to work for the 3days.

Then when High school came around i was introduced to the KANE!:damn: Oh yeah this simple piece of bamboo on the backside really hurt I remeber i answered back to my science teacher one to many times he mjust of been in his 70's but boy could he swing that kane good and hard i got 3 on the backside since as he said it was my first time next time it will be six. But i learnt my lesson after that. We even had a teacher who we nickname the vampire as he use to draw blood when he kane us he hit so hard with so much force that you would get cuts and bleed. One parent complained and after alot of heated meetings with the school & parents he was never to use the kane again.

Then around 1992 they banned the strap and kane in NZ.

actually when i looked back i learnt nothing from school, only how to handle punishment and walk out of the headmasters office smiling as a gesture of that didn't hurt one bit mate! (although it did) only when in my late teens then i wanted to learn. School was a waste of time.

EDIT any young people on here dont take my advice go to school & learn ! Back in the 70's-80's school was different.

Different or not, any dude looking to hit me with a strap or cane is going to get one right back in the kisser from me:nope:. I graduated HS in 1984. Corporal punishment:nope:

I spent most of my early years in Catholic schools and one year in a Catholic military school (double whamy). I was no angel, but I was never expelled and never subjected to any punishment more than a quick whack by a nun and many days in detention (called jug).

No surprise - I got banned from religious lessons: i asked too many uncomfortable questions, and did not obey to stop doing so. :lol: Else I was tame, shy, but always working on causing good laughter (what eventually may have ruined one lesson, or two...) All in all I have good memories of my time at school, and that age and time and feeling of life in general. I really miss it sometimes. but at no cost I would like to be young again in the present, only back in those past years. Perspectives definitely were brighter for the Young ones, and life was easier and a bit more relaxed than in the present.

I was a bad boy in the second year of secondary school I held the record for school and private detentions. Got the size 15 gym shoe a couple of times :o :o but never got a weekend detention or the cain.

when I was at boarding school we had a teacher who if you forgot something for class, even as small as a rubber (eraser to my US cousins) he would get you to find the largest gym shoe (we had open footware lockers) and then beat you 6 of the best, he'd even right POW backwards in chalk so you had POW on your arse. I personally think he just enjoyed beating little boys and found any excuse. I was 10 at the time. Got hit a few times though. Strangely though when I stabbed one kid with a pencil cuase he was being an arsehole to me nothing happend...!?! go figure.

I knew a few lads who were caned. One for telling the cleaning lady to F-off and the otehrs for running away.

The funniest was a teacher who bought one size 12 shoe just for beating, did me once but he barely tickled my hand. I don't hink he had the guts to do it but just wanted to look tough.

School kids today have no idea of the gym shoe or the cain let alone a clip around the ear and having the board rubber and chalk thrown at you by the teacher. those were the days before all this PC crap took over.

I missed the cane and the strap (they were banned in Australian Schools earlier, I think) I only once got into trouble (broke a glass dish in Home Economics) giving me one detention.:roll:

I won a couple of awards and manage to dux a subject while at high school, but left in year 11 as I had enough of School.:shifty:

Became a aprentice Toolmaker, but once I finshed the 4 years required I did some further study and became a Librarian!!!:88)

My 6th grade teacher had this board that he used for spanking those who got out of line. Actually you had the choice of standing in a corner during recess or getting spanked. I think I always chose getting spanked because I didn't want to miss recess. :know:

Anyway, this board had 3 holes in it and he called it ............ You guessed it.

THE HOLY BOARD. :yep: :lol:

Of course he made mention to the fact that with the 3 holes came less resistance when he swang it thru the air. :yep: :x

I remember in the sixth grade I was eating lunch in my classroom. I looked away for a sec and the portly girl who was beside me took my lunch and started to eat it. I called her a "pig" and punched her in the gut. I had to write a letter to my mom explaining my actions and apologizing for them.

The educational habits in your countries bewilder me. such things stopped over here - before the world war. I am far from propagating anti-authoritarian education (it doesn't work for sure), but certain specialities in anglosaxon tradition are even less acceptable to me. Even dogs I wouldn't treat like that.

I really slammed her, I felt bad after and still do sometimes :oops:
