Type II control room

I did ask this a while ago, but now with an actual 30th flotilla (thank you GWX) I am running the little boats again, and have this same issue.

When I first start the mission the control room looks cramped, the way it should really, but when I switch stations and then return back, the view is zoomed out, creating a fish eye lens appearance, which I really don't like.

Where is the parameter to remove this change, and have the control room look cramped.

I never noticed this until you made this post!

I have the same thing happen as well and would love to stick to the cramped look.

Anyone?

To be honest I have not noticed this yet, I guess I don't use the Type IIs enough.

I use Type IIs all the time and I've never noticed this. Out of curiosity, are you two using widescreen monitors? Because I'm not and it always looks cramped...

I've never noticed this either and I've spent quite some time in Type IIs. I do spend a lot of time looking at the nav map though so it's possible it was happening to me too.

Off topic, how's the game in the Black Sea?

Is it possible that after all your time at sea you've finally developped the dreaded "Fish-eye" disease, which eventually strikes and cripples all Type II crews?

I guess there is no fix for this? It is just as the original poster said: When you first start, from a new game or load from a save, you are in a "cramped" control room. When you leave the room and return. The control room is much bigger. It is very obvious and annoying.

Hm, I like playing Type IIs but I never noticed this, either. Kind of a bummer....

I noticed this also and tried to change it, but the fov setting in the cameras.dat doesn't apply to Type II's.

Dont like that effect, makes the Type II look like the largest U-boat ingame inside.

hey everyone - hope this helps as a temporary solution until someon finds something more permanent.

Are any (or all) of you running the Sh3 resolution fix? Wonder if that would have any effect.
