Lights shining through things

I know this is a problem present in the stock SH3, but didn't Anvart once discover a way to fix the light houses shining thru buildings, the bridge crew's heads and bodies, other ships, etc.?

If so, is it possible to retrofit this fix into GWX?

The original Anvart Halo fix thread:

IIRC the fix only cured the lights shining through the crew IN the sub
They still showed through buildings etc

We did try this out but there was a problem at the time
Not sure if the fix can be retro added though

Moin,

I dealt with that issue in the past days. As a few code lines have to be added to every single object effected, it would mean an isane amount of work to fix.

Presuming I would start this evening and would omit sleeping, I would probably be finished by the official SHIV release.
:damn:

Possible to automate the editing for the fix?

Caveat: I know absolutely nothing about the kind of editing that needs to be done to fix this problem. Or what lines of code need to be added to every object affected. Or what form the edits would take. Or anything about this....

But, would it be possible to write a small one-time utility that could automate this editing process? Input would be the current configuration files, and output would be modified configuration files.

Of course, the hit on frame rates may make the whole thing not worth doing, even if the editing could be done easily.

i doubt that something like that could be made in any kind of timely fashion, if at all.
