Need some help or direction.
I am working on re-creating the SSN Missions from sub command for DW. Mine are different in that I am attempting to follow the book SSN by Clancy as close as possible.
In my 3rd Mission I have entered the South China Sea and my orders are to find out how many subs and what kind are with a sizable task group. well I got it and was testing it when I realized that there is no report for merely detecting and identifying a vessel. I set it up as an approach goal, but this not what I want. I am thinking about using Goal Complete E_Misc_17.wav, does anyone know if that will work. I am really stumped at this point. I would really appreciate some help if anyone can give it to me. Thank you, Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret) |
Ron,
If you have a microphone, you could always create your own message. I don't know if you have a 3rd party sound recording software, but XP does have a 'bare bones' sound recorder. Start-All Programs-Accessories-Entertainment-Sound Recorder. Click the record button and go with it...make sure you click stop when finished. When you are done, click 'File-Save As' and make sure you save it as a .wav file. If you have multiple types of contacts, I might suggest that you make the .wav file specific to if it's a submarine or a surface contact..."You have detected an enemy surface contact, continue with your mission." Granted, I'm sure that if you pm Bill, he'll be of even greater help. |
What I could use.
I believe I have figured out my detection problem, if I understand what I am reading I can do this with Doctrine Language. But, I am not able to figure out how to use it. Yes I am reading the manal, but if I could get some direction or be steered to some scenarios that use detection I can complete building this mission.

The doctrine language won't affect the report received; it just determines the conditions under which the trigger will fire.
I can't believe I didn't think of this when you first posted: http://www.subguru.com/DW_missions/m...itorsounds.zip. That's a list of all the audio reports already available. If you don't find a report you want to use there, you'll have to add your own if you want one. In the alternative, you can always use a text report, which you can add from the same screen as you would for a radio message. |
